Bullguard Review – Is it Worth the Price?

Bullguard is a complete security suite. It’s not as comprehensive but it’s an excellent solution for those who want to get more value from their antivirus software. It’s also efficient in terms of resources, avoiding heavy loads on your system, while providing a range of options to lighten it when it is needed.

The program opens with a modular hub that has a tiled layout of its modules. This includes antivirus, firewalls, PC tune-up, game boosters, and home network scanners. People who want to keep an eye on their system for vulnerabilities will be happy with the “Vulnerabilities” section that will alert them to issues like missing Windows updates, autostart services and open ports. Gamers will find the “Game Booster” feature beneficial, as it can detect when you’re playing and automatically optimize your system.

In our tests, we found that the bullguard antivirus was very effective at preventing malware infection and was comparatively low on system resources in comparison to other products, particularly in terms of CPU usage. However we did notice that the background processes of the antivirus took up a considerable amount of RAM, particularly on systems with limited memory. Furthermore, some elements of the hub app looked at a low resolution and appeared pixelated.

Bullguard comes with a mobile security feature that is included with its Premium Protection subscription that provides antitheft parental control, basic backup support for your smartphone or tablet. Despite this, the app is fairly minimal and doesn’t have essential features like webcam protection or shredders of files. Likewise, phone support is only available via live chat or email.
